Raleigh Full Shallow Water Lifeguard Class M,T,W 6.16-6.25

This is a full Shallow lifeguard training class that will run from 8:00 AM to 12 PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, starting on June 16th and ending on June 25th. The class will be held at the Pool Professional Main Office and Eagle Ridge. The schedule is listed below:

Students must pass the below prerequisites on the first day we are at the pool (June 18th) in order to continue with the class.

• Students must be 15 years old by the start of the course.
• You must jump into the water fully submerge and resurface and swim 50 yards using freestyle or breaststroke. Then you must tread water for 2 minutes without the use of your hands and then swim 50 yards using freestyle or breaststroke. (Swim Goggles allowed)
• Complete a timed event within  50 seconds: Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Swim goggles are not allowed: Submerge, to a depth of 4 to 7 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and Walk or swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface in order to breathe (or to get a breath). Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
