Raleigh Full Lifeguard Class 5.2-4.3

Sign up for our lifeguard training class on Saturday, May 2nd, and Sunday, May 3rd, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM at St. Mary’s School in Raleigh. To join, you must meet the following requirements on the first day:

• Be at least 15 years old by the course start date.
• Complete the online portion before attending in person. This includes 16 modules and takes about 8 hours. Bring a printed certificate of completion to class on Saturday.

You must also demonstrate these water skills:

Swim/Tread/Swim(Googles allowed)

• Jump into the water, fully submerge, resurface, and swim 150 yards using freestyle or breaststroke.
• Tread water for 2 minutes without using your hands.
• Swim 50 yards using freestyle or breaststroke.

Brick Test( No Googles allowed)

• Complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds: Swim 20 yards (goggles not allowed), surface dive to retrieve a 10-pound object from 7 to 10 feet deep, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back while holding the object with both hands. Keep your face near the surface to breathe and exit the pool without using a ladder or steps.

Bring these items to class:

• Pencil and paper for notes
• Swimsuit and optional goggles
• Packed lunch and snacks
• Water bottle
• Towel and change of clothes
